Michael (Mick) Purcell is the Head of School at KC High in Chennai. Mick comes from the United States where he received his degrees in engineering and physics. He has been a Mathematics teacher for more than 25 years but he has also taught Physics, General Science, History, ToK, Computer Science, Design, and Technical Writing.

Mick serves many roles for the IBO as a workshop leader, consultant, site visitor, etc. He is widely recognized as an innovator in international education, developing programs in web literacy, open source technology, digital citizenship, academic honesty, health & safety, and other areas.

Prior to working at KC High, he was at Edubridge International School in Mumbai, NIST in Thailand, and at the Mahindra United World College in Pune. He also serves on the Board of Governors of The Association ofInternational Schools of India (TAISI). He loves to hike and climb mountains, read books, andspend time with his wife and three children.
