The collaborative process supports the transdisciplinary nature of the PYP. This session addresses the PYP requirement that schools have a system for regular review and refinement of the programme of inquiry. You will come away with clear criteria for evaluating a programme of inquiry document and a suggested process to carry out a school-wide self-assessment.
In this session, you will explore effective collaborative planning practices. This will be demonstrated through a simulation of the planning process, highlighting ways to engage the whole teaching team in developing units of inquiry and sharing best practices.
Participants will consider what makes an effective PYP unit planner. This workshop will assist teachers to develop a deep understanding of how to fill the 9 stage planner. We will be sharing how ManageBac can be used to to make sure that we are providing a structured, virtual learning environment for all our community members where the planning process, the assessment, and the daily communication are all connected.
Participants are invited to bring a planner they feel shows excellent PYP practice to share with a small group or a planner they would like to get feedback on in terms of how to develop it. These planners can be on ManageBac or brought on paper to share with a small group.
The session will outline how to set up assessments effectively and utilizing Managebac features to streamline, categorize, customize and communicate seemlessly with students. Emphasizing on online scheduling assessment system via calendar keeping parents, teachers and coordinators informed on student learning and progress. Digital annotation with Crocodoc in adherence to Academic Honesty via Turnit in and its features. Sharing of resources via resource bank and Google Drive integration on ManageBac.
School marketing is still in its infancy as a science and much misunderstood. Practised and espoused for decades by schools all over the world under various banners such as External Relations, Admissions and Marketing, this much underrated set of knowledges, experiences and expertises has still to see the proper light of day in schools. If marketing is NOT sales, NOT communications, NOT PR, NOT events and NOT defining target audiences with an annual schedule of activities designed to attract attention, then what is it? How can we better understand it? Harness to what we are already doing and make it work better for any school? A session for those who seek answers and practically applied knowledge.
This session will take a deep-dive into the following areas:
Note: Those who want to explore Reports on their own ManageBac account must have Admin access and request via sales@managebac.com to enable the module.
This session will look at ways in which project - based learning can be leveraged to boost student achievement in the Personal Project.
A hands - on session, it will begin with unpacking PBL to see how it equips students with the skills they need for the PP, a deeper dive into the power of PBL in developing these skills and end with classroom strategies from the time Pathways Noida integrated authentic PBL experiences for their students into the curriculum.
I quote George Bernard Shaw “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”
Communication forms an integral part of the admissions process - in fact, it may be the single most important factor. In this session we walk you through the messages on the school website, emails and phone calls during the assessment and admission process, ending with when the student finally walks through the school gate into a whole new world. This short session will leave you with a better understanding of the different components that help make communication more effective.
